National Asphalt Pavement Association

LANHAM, MD - The National Asphalt Pavement Association announces the publication of two new brochures, Warm-Mix Asphalt: The Future of Asphalt and Asphalt Pavements and the LEED Green Building System.

Warm-Mix Asphalt: The Future of Asphalt (order number PS-30) is a highly readable executive summary of warm-mix asphalt technologies that sets out the current state of the practice in an attractive format. It covers the origins of warm mix and explains how the technologies work. It also explores the potential impact of WMA on recycling, benefits to the environment, and construction benefits.

Asphalt Pavements and the LEED Green Building System (order number PS-32) is a guide that shows how asphalt works for "green" construction. This brochure outlines the various ways in which asphalt pavements may be used to obtain or contribute to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) credits. It includes references and provides Web sites that can be used to obtain additional information.

Warm-Mix Asphalt brochures are available for $2.50 per copy, $45 for a bundle of 25 copies (a saving of $17.50 over the single-copy price), and $80 for a bundle of 50 copies (a saving of $45.00). Asphalt Pavements and LEED brochures are priced at $0.50 per copy, or $22.50 for a bundle of 50 copies (a saving of $2.50 over the single-copy price). Orders may be placed through NAPA's online store at www.hotmix.org, by calling toll-free 888-468-6499, by e-mail to publications@hotmix.org, or by fax to the Publications Department at 301-731-4621. NAPA is located at 5100 Forbes Blvd., Lanham, MD 20706-4407.

The National Asphalt Pavement Association is the only association that exclusively represents the interests of the hot-mix asphalt producer/contractor on the national level with Congress, government agencies, and other national trade and business organizations. NAPA supports an active research program designed to improve the quality of HMA pavements and paving techniques used in the construction of roads, streets, highways, parking lots, airports, and environmental and recreational facilities. The association provides technical, educational, and marketing materials and information to its members, as well as product information to users and specifiers of paving materials. The association, whose members number nearly 1,200 companies, was founded in 1955.
