Olympic Panel Products Receives FSC 'Green Certification'

Olympic Panel Products

Shelton, WA - Olympic Panel Products LLC received Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) 'Green Certification' from the Rainforest Alliance - SmartWood Program for MDO and HDO concrete forming plywood. The certification consists of three elements: Chain of Custody certification for non-overlaid and overlaid concrete form wood products; Controlled Wood certification for logs processed from a large area of the Olympic Peninsula; and a Paper Derogation or waiver allowing the use of non-certified overlay papers while Olympic Panel actively pursues and helps develop FSC certified paper overlays. Olympic's FSC certified products will carry an "FSC Mixed Credit" product designation.

Olympic Panel's initial FSC certified concrete form product line will include: Regular HDO, Hi-Flow MDO and B-Matte MDO. "We plan to start with these three products and then expand to the other products in the concrete Form product line: Barrier Film, MultiPour, Classic HDO and Super-Matte MDO," said Ed Moroz, Olympic Panels' concrete form sales manager. In addition, Olympic will add products in its Sign Board and Industrial Product lines in the near future.

FSC, the Forest Stewardship Council, is an independent, non-governmental, not for profit organization established to promote the responsible management of the world's forests. It provides standard setting, trademark assurance and accreditation services for companies and organizations interested in responsible forestry. Products carrying the FSC label are independently certified to assure consumers that they come from forests that are managed to meet the social, economic and ecological needs of present and future generations.

Olympic Panel Products is the largest manufacturer of overlaid plywood in North America. OPP has a broad product offering available including the overlaid plywood.
