John Deere Power Systems (JDPS) has announced the retirement of Pierre Guyot, senior vice president of JDPS, effective June 30, 2026, after 28 years with the company. Gregor Sueck, currently vice president of Tractor Engineering, has been appointed to succeed Guyot as senior vice president (SVP), Power Systems, effective June 1, 2026.
Guyot joined John Deere in 1998 in factory operations in France. He held leadership roles across Europe and the U.S., including directorships in Germany and France where he oversaw transitions in supply management and engine standards. Since 2014, he served as vice president of Global Supply Management and Logistics in Moline, Illinois, driving supply operations transformation and cost efficiencies.
As senior vice president of JDPS since 2019, Guyot led the renewal of the engine portfolio, bringing the JD14, JD18, and JD4 engine platforms to production and launching the JD5 and JD8 programs. He also advanced the company's low-carbon solutions, including ethanol and electrification technologies, and secured several patents while growing the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) and remanufacturing businesses.
Sueck brings extensive global leadership and engineering expertise to the position. Since joining John Deere in 2011, he has held various leadership roles, including director of Hay and Forage Engineering and director of Turf and Compact Utility Engineering, where he oversaw the launch of electrified turf equipment.
Sueck holds degrees in computer science and mechanical engineering from the University of Münster and a master's degree in business administration from the University of Stuttgart.
In his new role, Sueck will oversee the strategic direction of JDPS, focusing on product leadership, cost competitiveness, and growth strategies for the remanufacturing and OEM businesses. He will lead the development of the company's portfolio spanning engines, drivetrains and emerging technologies.
