Cat 950 through 982 series loaders, including XE and GC models.
The Single Life Cutting Edges feature a single bevel design and are manufactured from through-hardened DH-2 steel. This construction eliminates the need to flip edges mid-life, offering a more straightforward approach to wear part management. According to Caterpillar, the design provides wear life comparable to or better than standard double-sided edges.
The simplified design consists of two edge pieces that mount without the need for end bits or additional hardware. The system is also compatible with aftermarket buckets that share the same hole pattern, expanding its usability beyond OEM setups.
By removing the need to monitor wear and rotate edges, the system may help reduce both material waste and equipment downtime. Caterpillar reports that users who do not typically flip cutting edges may see up to 45% more value, with potential cost savings of up to 40% compared to legacy systems, depending on the loader model.
The new cutting edges are backed by Caterpillar’s standard limited warranty and are positioned as part of a broader portfolio of GET (Ground Engaging Tools) aimed at improving productivity and controlling maintenance costs in high-impact and abrasive applications.
