BOMAG Unveils BW 174 AP-5 Pivot-Steered Tandem Roller

The BOMAG BW 174 AP-5 is a pivot-steered tandem roller particularly suitable for thin-layer surfacing and compaction of asphalt layers, base courses, and anti-frost layers on new-build projects and maintenance jobs. It is designed for medium and large-scale construction projects, e.g. inner-city development, roads, airports, and parking lots. The roller is more efficient with ECOMODE/ECOSTOP and optional hybrid technology.

• ASPHALT MANAGER compaction system helps achieve the required compaction results in asphalt and road construction. Setting the machine parameters is easy − all the operator needs to do is select the paving layer.

• Has optional heated and electrically adjustable front side mirrors, four additional mirrors (on the cab and rear frame), and various camera systems (passive & active) available.
• The sprung seat can be adjusted to the driver’s weight and the cab is also decoupled and mounted on vibration-damping bearings - factors that ensure significantly fewer jolts and vibrations.
• Has an optional "follow-me-home" function where the two spotlights on the front side of the cab remain active for a short time after the machine has been switched off and light the way for the driver across the construction site.
