Attentive.ai has expanded its Beam AI estimating platform, adding new trade capabilities while continuing to reduce the time required to complete material takeoffs.
The platform automates takeoffs from construction plans, delivering material quantities in about 10 minutes. Contractors can upload project plans, and Beam AI will read a full plan set and specifications to automatically extract required material quantities across multiple trades, including HVAC, mechanical and plumbing.
The 10-minute, self-serve takeoff workflow was first launched for HVAC and mechanical, but it is now expanding that to plumbing and structural steel, broadening its use. The company says that, depending on project complexity, tasks that previously took days can now be completed in hours.
Beam AI has also expanded beyond takeoffs into bid management workflows. New products like Bid Dashboard and Bid Sniper are meant to give contractors a centralized view of incoming opportunities, tracking bid status, deadlines, RFIs and addenda in one place. By connecting estimating with bid tracking, the platform is aimed to help contractors move faster from opportunity to submission while maintaining visibility across their pipeline.
The expansion comes as contractors face increasing pressure to bid more work with limited staff. Estimating capacity remains a constraint for many firms, particularly as project pipelines grow more competitive.
According to the company, contractors using the platform report higher bid volume, faster turnaround times and a return on investment within 60 to 90 days. The ability to complete takeoffs more quickly allows teams to pursue more opportunities without adding staff, helping reduce missed bids tied to time limitations.
